  1. The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division is asking for public feedback, and to share information on the future of L’Ecole Providence in McLennan.
    The Board of Trustees have set up a meeting for Thursday March 12th at the school.

  2. From the RCMP’s Weekly Wanted File, police in the area are looking for two people.
    Brooke Calahaison-Kozak was last seen in Gift Lake, and is wanted for activities in Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, Saddle Hills County, Gift Lake and High Prairie.
    Joey Martin Bigstone was last seen Slave Lake, and is known for activities in Slave Lake and High Prairie.

  3. The Alberta Pond Hockey Championships is going ahead, but at a different venue.
    Due to unmanageable conditions on Lac Cardinal, the event is being held on the indoor and outdoor rinks at the Mile Zero Multiplex in Grimshaw. (Dave Allan Interview in separate story)

  4. Peace Regional police are inviting residents to chat informally.
    Coffee with a Cop returns to the area today from 10-1 at Northern Dough Bakery in Grimshaw.
  5. The Peace Regional SPCA has teamed up with Whiskers Cat Cafe in Grande Prairie to aid in more than 100 cats being adopted, since it began last year.

  6. NPHL playoffs begin tonight with Falher in Grande Prairie. The other three series start this weekend.

  7. One Canadian team is in action, as part of a 7-game NHL schedule tonight.
    Ottawa is in Philidelphia. After tonight, the NHL embarkes on their Olympic Break.
  8. Speaking of the Olympics, they continue in Italy with Mixed Doubles Curling…
    Canada is 2-0 after a 6-3 win this morning over Norway.
    Jocelyn Peterman and Brad Gallant of Chestermere, play the Italians this afternoon.
  9. Women’s hockey was to get underway today, but Canada and Finland is postponed, because of the Finns dealing with a bad stomach virus.
    Again, the opening ceremonies are tomorrow, the first medals are handed out on Saturday.
  10. Skies are remaining relatively cloudy for this afternoon in the Northwest.
    Temperatures are continuing to cool down a little, as they hang around zero in the Peace and Big Lakes, and in the minus teens in the Mackenzie. Snow has a chance of falling in the Mackenzie until the weekend, when it will fall.
