On January 19, 2026, in Peace River court, Daniel Lane Cardinal was sentenced to life imprisonment with no chance of parole for 11 years for the murder of 22-year-old Emilio Noskey.
The incident occurred on October 4, 2022, on the Woodland Cree First Nation, where Noskey was fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
Cardinal was arrested four days later and found guilty on February 19, 2025.
