
Alberta Justice reports that Mason Gordon Lane of Manning has been sentenced to 120 days in jail after pleading guilty to theft-related charges in Grande Prairie court on January 12.
Lane received credit for 107 days already served.
His charges included possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, and mischief causing property damage.
These charges stem from a June 2, 2024, where Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a break-and-enter.
The suspects fled in a stolen vehicle from Spirit River, abandoned it after evading a tire deflation device, and were apprehended with assistance from local residents and Police Dog Services.
Multiple stolen tools were recovered.
Lane’s co-accused, Chelsea Lauren Goddard, also of Manning, received a conditional discharge and six months’ probation after pleading guilty to mischief in October.
