The Peace Regional RCMP has released its October 2025 statistics, highlighting a total of 602 files handled across its jurisdiction, which includes communities such as Peace River, Grimshaw, and surrounding areas.
The top three incident categories were:
- 1. 129 files related to dangerous driving and other vehicle-related incidents.
- 2. 65 files mischief.
- 3. 55 files involving theft over or under $5,000 theft of motor vehicles, and possession of property obtained by crime.
In traffic enforcement, approximately 179 violation tickets were issued, with the most common infractions being exceeding the maximum speed limit, operating a motor vehicle without registration, and window tint violations.
Year-over-year comparisons indicate a decrease in break and enters, thefts of motor vehicles, and impaired operation incidents compared to October 2024.
However, there was an increase in thefts during the same period.
The RCMP reminds residents to avoid leaving vehicles running unattended and to secure valuables to prevent theft.
With winter approaching, drivers are advised to prepare for hazardous conditions by equipping vehicles with adequate tires and carrying emergency supplies.
