Canola Producers disappointed with tariffs (Andre Harpe)

alberta-canola

The Agriculture Industry is struggling in Northwestern Alberta right now.

Add to that, China has imposed a near 76% tariff on Canola seed in Canada.

The duty, put in place last week has caused the price of Canola in the country, to drastically drop, thus wiping out millions of dollars in value.

As expected, farmer producers and organizations are quite disappointed in the latest part of the political trade war happening in the world.

One organization sharing in the frustration is the Alberta Canola Producers Commission, thus having it lead into ideas wanting to be brought forward.

The bottom line is that hopefully, adequate deals can be reached with Canada’s largest export market of Canola, in China, before more farmers, and ultimately more customers suffer from even high food prices.

The Chair of the Alberta Canola Producers Commission, is Andre Harpe.
